Why Doddamane, Our Philosophy of Building
Every construction company in Mysore will tell you they build quality homes.
We want to tell you something different.
We want to tell you what we actually believe about construction, about the families we build for, about what a home means, and about why we do this work the way we do it.
Not because it makes for good marketing. But because we think the families who choose us deserve to know what they are choosing.
What you will find here
- Why we treat every project, regardless of size, with the same seriousness
- What respect means in the context of construction
- Why we believe we are building generational structures, not just houses
- How these values show up in the way we work every day
There are no small projects
A 20×30 plot. A single-floor home. A budget that is everything a family has saved over twenty years.
Is that a small project?
We do not think so.
In our experience, the families building on smaller plots with tighter budgets have more at stake, not less. They cannot afford mistakes. They cannot afford delays. They cannot afford a builder who treats their project as less important because the contract value is lower.
Every project that comes to us gets the same thing: a qualified site engineer present daily, materials specified by brand and grade in the agreement, stage-wise billing, and the same accountability we bring to our largest projects.
Not because we are idealists. Because we have seen what happens when smaller projects are treated as lesser ones, and we do not want to be the kind of company that does that.

Respect is the first material we bring to a site
Before the steel. Before the cement. Before the first excavation.
We bring respect.
Respect for the family whose life savings are going into this ground. Respect for the workers who will spend months on this site. Respect for the neighbours whose daily lives will be affected by the construction happening next door. Respect for the craft of building itself.
This sounds abstract. Here is what it looks like in practice.
We return calls. We show up when we say we will. We tell families the truth about timelines even when the truth is inconvenient. We tell them when something has gone wrong, before they discover it themselves. We treat the people who work on our sites with dignity, because we believe that the quality of work done by people who are treated well is different from the quality of work done by people who are not.
Construction is a relationship. It runs for 12–18 months. The families we build for trust us with the most important project of their lives. We do not take that lightly.

We build generational structures
A home built in Mysore today will be lived in for fifty years.
The children who grow up in it will make memories in it. The grandchildren who visit will know it as the family home. It may be passed down. It may be the anchor of a family’s identity in this city for generations.
That is not an abstract idea for us. It is the reason we do not compromise on structural steel. It is the reason we insist on proper curing time even when a client is eager to move faster. It is the reason we will not build below ₹2,300 per sq ft, because below that number, we cannot stand behind what is inside the walls.
A home that develops structural cracks in ten years is not a home, it is a liability. A home that needs its plumbing redone in seven years because substandard pipes were used is not a completed project, it is a deferred cost that the family will pay.
We build homes that do not ask their owners to pay twice.
That is what we mean when we say we build generational structures.

What this means for the families who build with us
We are not the right builder for every family in Mysore.
If your primary criterion is the lowest possible per sq ft rate, we are probably not your builder. We cannot compete with builders who achieve low rates by using substandard materials, reducing supervision, or quoting structure only and billing finishing separately.
We are the right builder for families who:
- Want to build once and not revisit the decision in five years
- Want to know exactly what is going into their home, by brand, by grade, in writing
- Value consistent communication and honest updates over comfortable reassurances
- Understand that the cost of quality materials and proper supervision is an investment, not a premium
- Want to hand their home to their children in the same condition they received it
If that is you, we would like to talk.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long has Doddamane Constructions been building in Mysore? Doddamane Constructions has been building homes in Mysore since 2020. In that time we have completed residential projects across the city, G+1 and G+2 homes, duplexes, and turnkey projects for both local families and NRIs building from abroad.
What does “Doddamane” mean? Doddamane is a Kannada word meaning “grand home” or “big house.” It is traditionally used to describe the ancestral family home, the home that endures across generations. We chose this name because it reflects what we believe every home we build should be, not grand in size necessarily, but grand in the care and quality that goes into it.
What makes Doddamane different from other builders in Mysore? Three things: material integrity, we specify every material by brand and grade in the written agreement and do not substitute; supervision quality, a qualified engineer is present on site every day; and communication, we tell families the truth, including when the truth is inconvenient. We build homes we are willing to stand behind publicly.
Does Doddamane build commercial projects as well? Yes. We build both residential and commercial projects in Mysore. Our core work is residential, the homes families live in, but we apply the same standards of material quality and supervision to commercial builds.
How do I know Doddamane will use the materials they promise? Every material brand and grade is specified by name in the written construction agreement. We provide purchase invoices during construction. Families are welcome to visit the site at any time, including during material deliveries. We have never had a reason to hide what goes into our buildings.
